Mr. Van Cleef has left the building.
I tanked my first instance yesterday. Went in Deadmines at level 20, dinged in the instance and almost got one more level afterwards, when delivering the quests. Started with a party that was great but a bit alien to me. Four draeneis (priest, hunter, fighter, mage) did their best to prevent me from tanking by dpsing at will, which didn’t hurt much because everyone could handle the adds they pulled and the healing was solid. The fighter and mage left us just as we reached the port and we got two rogues to help us finish the instance. Apart from a bad pull (and wipe) when we were 3-manning a part of the instance, we one-shot everything.
What I loved:
- Tanking rocks!
- Completing all your quests rocks!
- I can’t handle more than two mobs at a time for now.
- I really need to keybind many abilities, more than I already have.
- I still don’t have a solid rotation going. Sunder had first priority, of course, and thunderclap helped with keeping aggro.
- Taunt is awesome but my reflexes are slow for now. I pulled several mobs after they hit dps once or twice.
- My (half-twink) gear is quite adequate for my level. I’ll have to get a few levels before attempting Stockades though.
I’m considering a few changes to the build I have up to now, as I could use a few more tanking-oriented talents.
